(Originally posted January 2015)

Yesterday I completed the first round of edits on my shitty rough draft MG fantasy novel. I sat down and wrote for 3 hours, which was unexpected and wonderful. I will definitely need to add some to the word count (37,000-ish) but for now I’m happy. I have four beta readers who have kindly volunteered their time and bluntness to help me with edits. While I spend the rest of January doing agent queries on my Women’s Fiction manuscript, I will keep myself from doing anything on the fairy tale for now. I want to let it “rest” I guess. Hopefully by the end of the month, my queries will be complete, and I will have plenty of time while awaiting those replies (before moving on to small presses) to work on second-round edits of the MG fairy tale.

That’s really all that’s new. But I think it’s exciting in an overwhelming, whew kind of way!
