For those who missed my story, I had a big moment last night: typing "The End" in my manuscript! 🎉 I basically wrote this in less than six weeks and I am so proud of myself. I love this story...yeah, still needs a name 😂 Now, I'll be intensely rereading and polishing. I feel like it's the cleanest firstish draft I've ever written so I hope there's not tons of moving chunks around but I know I tend to rush the exciting scenes. And my characters glare at each other too much haha... so, definitely need to flesh all that out. Still, I think this is the best thing I've ever written. 😶 Thank you SO much for your support, kind comments, dms, encouragement and everything else the last few weeks! Happy #socksunday 😊 The Hating Game is a contemporary romance novel that comes HIGHLY recommended by at least two of my book besties 💕 so of course, I had to pick it up! I hope to start it tonight, and also watch To All the Boys I've Loved Before, which everyone is raving about...I liked the book so I'm sure I'll like the movie too! I read mostly fantasy (and mostly YA at that) but I do adore romantic books, especially a great rom-com. @crescentmoonreads was doing a Tarot/aesthetic on her Twitter yesterday and she made this for me 💕 Isn't it pretty?? The Elk. Earth. Stable/supportive/headstrong. The last picture made me laugh out loud because that is SO me. I'm stubborn, rebellious and I often just do what I want 😂 This can be seen as a negative (ahem, especially with women) but I think it's a plus. I never give up on what I believe in, I'm passionate and I make things happen. I'm carrying this aspect of my personality through with me into Corliss, my main character. We are different in lots of ways, but in that regard, one in the same. On that note, back to writing in a bit. I'm on track to finish my manuscript today. 😶 Whoa.!!! ...and here I am, dreaming of a girl whose twelve brothers turned into swans and flew her across the sky like a wish...💖 I caught these geese yesterday as they swooped overhead and couldn't help but think of my poem, The Wild Swans. It was a busy morning with family at the amusement park then a busy book club evening. All fun stuff. But I only managed to write about a sentence yesterday...yikes. So today, time to buckle down. Wishes won't complete this manuscript. Only my butt in the chair will haha. Anywho, I'm excited to write and hopefully tackle the climax scene today. (Also yikes. I'm scared tbh). Happy Wednesday 😊 The other day I went through all my old journals to see if there were any good lines or ideas I could add to my story-- I seriously have at least six full of random things that pop into my head that I sometimes find a home for. I didn't find anything for my manuscript, but I did find this drawing I did awhile ago. 🌿 Art is something I loved when I was younger but lost passion for. I still want to finish illustrating the fairytale I wrote and get it published.. in the meantime, I'm going to revisit drawing just for fun. Speaking of fun, last night my sister and I had one of those great laughing fits, where you're overtired and giddy and everything is hysterical. Now, coffee time and later shopping! Good morning Bookstagram 💖 Today is a special day because my sister is coming to visit!!! I only get to see her about once a year so I'm so excited we get five days together! You can't really see but Snow White and Rose Red are in this photo, from Snow & Rose (tbr!) 😋 And I recently enjoyed Sisters Red, about a pair of werewolf-fighting sisters. Besides that, I loved Wicked Life a Wildfire and Practical Magic! Then there's Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility...so many great sister stories! I finished City of Bones last night and 😢 I was definitely shocked by certain aspects towards the end! I really liked the book overall and hope to see the movie soon. And yes, I know I'm way behind haha. Now that I've finished that, A Court of Frost and Starlight is looking pretty tempting but tbh I'm kind of nervous....I've heard it may not live up to the hype.
