An Award?!

I’m absolutely thrilled to share that STARLINGS has received the OUTSTANDING ACHEIVEMENT IN CHILDREN’S LITERATURE award, along with nine other books by Wisconsin-based authors, by the Wisconsin Library Association. I really don’t have words, but suffice to say, when I found out, on a rather mundane afternoon, that I cried happy tears. I’m humbled and grateful, as a former kid who loved going to the library and as a former employee of a library myself— first as a shelving page then a processing page. I spent many hours working and daydreaming, staring at titles, holding shiny new books or musty old books, in my hands and envisioning that one day my books would be on library shelves. And now, for it to come full circle in an award is just beyond. Thank you, WLA! And a huge congrats to the other authors!! Read more here.
